A Broken Camera

My camera broke. This was not a nice feeling for me. The main dial no longer allows me to change my shutter or aperture. I was looking into getting it repaired, but my husband and I talked about it, and I’ve decided to get a new camera.

In the meantime, I wanted to test the different automatic modes out to see if the camera was still working well. It is, and it is possible to take photos using automatic mode, but I am looking forward to being able to use the other settings.

I tried taking the photos with the “flower” macro mode, but it kept wanting to put the flash on. There was no way that I could figure out how to turn off the flash, so I tried it in P mode and it worked fairly well. In fact, when I compare the photos I took with the macro mode and the P mode, I cannot see any difference other than the lighting because of the flash. The macro mode doesn’t let me get any closer to the flowers than the P mode. In other words, it may say Macro, but it really isn’t. A macro lens would be needed for very close up.

I was able to use the camera I have even though part of it is broken. This reminds me that God can use us even when we think that we are “broken” or not good enough to be able to do things for Him.

 I will praise the LORD while I live;
I will sing praises unto my God while I have my being.
Psalm 146:2
