This time of year, we see a lot of fog on the lake and in the area. These are some of the pictures I’ve taken in the last month or so. It’s a peaceful quiet time and we can enjoy it when we are walking around the lake, or taking the kayak out.
It’s so nice to see the lake now, and have the ice all gone. Last week it started moving around, and then broke into shards of ice about 4 inches long. It made some interesting patterns and shapes as it was pushed around and then slowly disappeared.

Winter is coming! The ice is starting on the lake, and we have had a couple of snowstorms already. I like the way the lake looks when there is water and ice at the same time. It has a different look than the spring time when the ice is breaking up.
I’ve been playing around with taking silhouettes over the last few years, so thought I would upload some of these. Several are in black and white as I was experimenting with this also.

Fog in the winter looks very different from the fog we see in the summer. As the weather warms, the snow and ice can bring about a beautiful fog. This morning, I took a walk to see the fog on our lake which hid some of the fishing huts, and simplified the scenery.
