We recently purchased a couple of kayaks, and are learning how to use them. It is beautiful out on the water, especially when the water is calm and fog is lifting in the morning. It really gives you a chance to enjoy God’s handiwork. We’ve found that we can get much closer to loons, and other birds. It also gives you a lower viewpoint, especially when you go in among reeds … the spider webs are beautiful in the mornings.
I did not take my good camera on this trip – I’m not that confident. But I do have an “expensive point and shoot” camera – a Canon T3i that has a broken selector, so that I can only use the automatic settings and I decided to take it out. I was still nervous that I might upset or drop the camera in the water. I also found it a bit difficult to keep the camera steady enough for the photos.
From a Kayak
Therefore I will give thanks to You, O LORD,
among the nations, and I will sing praises to Your name …
