It was a beautiful, foggy morning on our lake and river today. As I was coming around a bend in the river, I spotted a great blue heron. Even though we have them on our lake, we don’t get the opportunity to see them up close very often. This one was very accommodating.

When we were in Killbear Provincial Park a few weeks ago, we saw a common merganzer swimming in Georgian Bay and then later saw another one lying on the beach. When she moved we were able to see her chicks. Life is interesting.
