Today we had a pine warbler in our yard. It was very fascinated with its reflection in the truck and kept coming back to check it out over and over again.

Usually Pine Warblers stay up high in pine trees so they can be difficult to see. This obviously isn’t the case with this one.

Pine Warblers mostly eat insects, but sometimes eat fruit and seeds. We saw one at our feeder several years ago. It’s been awhile though, and I needed help identifying this one.

Not too much is known about their nesting habits because they nest high in pine trees and it is difficult to find them and observe them.

I enjoyed watching this bird. It seemed content to look at itself and did not seem to be trying to attack the other bird in the reflection.

Objects in mirror are closer than they appear … really?

I only saw this a few times – where it may have been trying to attack the other bird, but I’m not sure. It didn’t do this very often.
