The waves on Georgian Bay were still quite high when we arrived at Craigleith Provincial Park a few weeks ago. They had had a storm the night before. It takes a long time for the water to settle after having a storm.
The water was high, surrounding the the picnic tables along the shore. The shore is a rock shelf.
The water did go down, and settled somewhat the next day. That night a young girl about 4 or 5 years old went missing on the beach and we had great concern because the waves were still rolling in with force.
My husband went looking for her along the camp road and found her! We were all rejoicing and glad to have her found safe.
While I watched the water settle down over the next few days, I marvelled at how long it took. And I thought of the time that Jesus settled the storm … and it was immediate!
